Kick off the year by volunteering in the community! The Butler Center for Service and Leadership is hosting the first service day of the year called Orientation Outreach on Sunday Aug.23rd from 9am-2pm. We will be providing transportation, t-shirt, breakfast and lunch and the opportunity to volunteer with incredible community partners!

Field Trip Release Waiver

For and in consideration of being allowed to participate in the trip going to Orientation Outreach sites at varying locations in Miami Dade County that will take place on 8/23/2026, I, in full recognition and appreciation of the dangers and hazards involved in such activity, do hereby agree to assume all risks and responsibilities surrounding my participation in this event and do hereby release and hold harmless the University of Miami, its Trustees, Officers, Directors, Faculty and Employees, and participants from and against any and all liabilities to the undersigned, his/her dependents, assigns, personal representatives, heirs and next of kin for any and all damages, expenses (including attorney fees) claims, judgments, actions or causes of action as a result of any loss or injury to the person or property, including death, which I may sustain or suffer during or arising out of activities of the above described event and during transportation to and from such event whether caused by negligence of the University of Miami, of persons acting on its behalf or otherwise. I understand that the University of Miami does not, in any manner, serve as principal, agent, or partner of any travel agent, commercial carrier or lodging establishment which may provide services or accommodations to the participants. I have read and understand this release and voluntarily sign this document and participate in this trip.

In the event of injury to the undersigned, born on the date listed below, C# listed below, I hereby authorize the University of Miami or representatives thereof to admit me to a facility for emergency medical treatment as may be deemed necessary to my health or welfare. I authorize the University of Miami to take photographs, audio and video recordings, and images of me as well as my likeness and/or live transmission(s) of myself in whole or in part (“Materials”) and grant the University of Miami permission to use and publish the Materials without payment or any other consideration. Site 1- Global Empowerment Mission (GEM)

Assemble and prepare emergency relief kits that will be shipped to communities in Colombia and Venezuela impacted by the recent earthquakes. These kits contain essential supplies to help individuals and families meet their immediate needs during this challenging time. Every kit assembled represents a meaningful contribution toward bringing hope, comfort, and essential resources to communities as they begin the process of rebuilding.

Site 2- SEED School of Miami

- Working with the SEED School of Miami which serves students from historically underserved communities, including many who are the first in their families to pursue higher education. Some students have experienced foster care, while others have family members who are incarcerated or face other significant life challenges. Through a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum and a structured residential program, SEED equips students with the knowledge, skills, and resilience needed to succeed in college and beyond. Students will be assisting with painting bookshelves for their library and painting and refurbishing their music room.
